Interesting article that mentions how consumers (U.S) wants to engage with brands. The weakness of the article is their definitions. E.g. blogs are not trusted. Well it depends, are we talking about BA's metrotwin or view from the wing by Boeing? They get the importance of forums right though…

Part two in an interview with the CEO of travel site TripAdvisor. Key takeaway:
"I have a sign outside my door that says "Speed Wins." That is our motto when it comes to social media as well. For every success you see, we've had plenty of items that we tested and didn't work out. You really never know what the next big thing will be."

Brilliant idea for a travel related competition on Facebook. The game challenges users to kidnap their friends to their favorite international hideout city using a variety of "methods" such as "Eight ball in the Sock" or "Faulty Human Slingshot." To escape from the hideout city and begin kidnapping their friends, kidnapped players must answer a trivia question related to that city.
Players earn points for answering questions correctly, and advance levels and gain access to new methods when they successfully kidnap a certain number of their friends. A leaderboard shows the top players and other game stats.

A good introduction to Digital Crisis management by John Bell. DCM (digital crisis management) is a given for any company even considering online activities. Very often, internet is where i crisis really reaches critical mass and if a corporation does not respond online, the damage is most likely to severe to be contained or even limited.
